Metafilter FAQ

By fall 2002, the number of questions clogging MetaTalk became a problem. MattHaughey's response was to limit the number of MeTa threads showing on its front page to five, but this meant that recently discussed topics were invisible to casual readers, which only seemed to intensify the repetition. MeFi user frykitty, with help from others, selected key threads out of the thousands posted to MetaTalk to illustrate topics on which there is broad consensus. Structured as a FAQ, it is concise and links directly to the appropriate thread where discussion took place.
